about energex

legal compliance

An effective compliance program may mitigate a fine or penalty, but can also add value to a company by enhancing and protecting corporate reputation and image, improving business relationships and providing a competitive advantage.

Trade Practices Act

The Trade Practices Act 1974 is particularly complex legislation and ENERGEX has dedicated resources to help ensure the entire ENERGEX Group complies with it.

Our efforts include an executive Risk Management and Compliance Committee, continual training for staff (such as sales and marketing), updates on the law and reporting facilities.

ENERGEX recently made a submission to the Dawson Inquiry into the Trade Practices Act.

privacy

ENERGEX is committed to protecting the personal information of its customers and stakeholders and recognises that privacy is an important consideration. ENERGEX is subject to the recent amendments to the Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles. View our Privacy Policy through the link at the bottom of the page.

workplace health and safety

A critical measure of the effectiveness of any Corporate Governance framework is the dedication to the management of Health and Safety.

The Health and Safety Compliance Group is responsible for the development of Corporate Standards and Guidelines in collaboration with stakeholders and for the monitoring of, and reporting on, corporate policy and legislative compliance within the ENERGEX Group of Companies.

The Group interfaces with relevant regulatory agencies to derive the best possible outcomes from proposed regulatory changes and to mitigate the effects of any alleged non-compliances. Members of the Group as subject matter experts, provide consultancy advice and support to facilitate safety performance improvements and to ensure regulatory compliance across ENERGEX.

The Group is active in the development of a range of national standards and provides extensive input to the creation of local and interstate regulations and Codes of Practice.
