Metering Training has been designed for employees within the energy distribution/supply industry, specifically for personnel or contractors who are involved in installing and maintaining whole current and current transformer metering.

Metering Training is conducted in-house. Energex is the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for the course.

After completing the course, the successful trainee will be able to respond to whole current meter queries and install and maintain current transformer (CT) meters. See below for an overview of the course stages.

After completing this section of the course, the successful trainee will have gained knowledge and skills in the following:

• faultfinding, maintaining meters and responding to meter queries on revenue metering installations
• whole current meters and associated equipment and testing of installations
• solid state meters
• basic current transformer metering
• revenue protection as it applies to field work
• audio frequency load control systems
• time switches for hot water tariffs and time-of-use metering.
