ENERGEX Supplier Quality Awards 2011

Supplier Quality Awards table with several trophies

Energex held its annual Supplier Quality Awards for 2011 on March 15 with suppliers from around Australia and overseas attending the winners’ announcement breakfast ceremony. The theme of the awards was Together we Create Success.

The awards were presented in recognition of Energex suppliers’ outstanding achievement of their ongoing excellence in safety, provision of goods and services and innovations in sustainability, especially after the January 2011 floods.

Guest speaker AFL legend Leigh Matthews spoke about the benefits of working together as one on the football field and how the same behaviour and processes can be practiced in the workplace with positive outcomes.

He also spoke of trust, teamwork and recognition of the importance of individual contributions in the team.

This year Energex introduced a new perpetual trophy - the Chairman's Safety Award – which will be an annual award presented to a supplier in recognition of outstanding safety achievements and showcased examples of top safety performance. This particular trophy was created from a pole that was replaced due to the devastating floods in Grantham and the Lockyer Valley in early 2011.

Winners of the Chairman’s Safety Award for 2011, which was presented by Energex Chairman John Dempsey, are J & P Richardson Industries Pty Ltd.

Trophies and certificates were presented to seven other category winners. The trophies were also produced from recovered poles.
