Energex was among the winners at the Queensland Supply Chain and Logistics Awards held in Brisbane last week.
About 300 industry participants recognised the award winners in five categories at the conference dinner held at the Sofitel Hotel.
Energex Limited won this year’s Supply Chain Management Award for its work in consolidating its storage and distribution network.
Originally managing the distribution of materials from five sites on Brisbane’s north and south, while supplying 22 contractor site depots from a number of separate warehouses, the Energex strategy involved the construction of just two main facilities to house its inventory and manage distribution.
Energex’s main wood pole and underground cable bulk storage is now stored at its Larapinta site, while all other inventory is stored at its Eagle Farm distribution centre.
Deliveries were maintained to all customers throughout the relocation program.
Energex’s Andrew Murphy received the award on behalf of Materials Distribution and Supply Management team.
“It’s a privilege to accept this award on behalf of the entire team,” Andrew said.
The Supply Chain Management Award aims to recognise the significant achievement of an organisation in managing the integration of supply chains.
The Supply Chain and Logistics Awards and Conference has a 13-year history supported and is run by the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia.
