Network developments, such as establishing and upgrading powerlines, substations and other network infrastructure, help ensure quality and reliability of supply and also support the rapid growth in the south east Queensland region.

major projects

  • Caboolture to Toorbul Point
    ENERGEX is planning to develop an overhead 110 kV powerline from its Caboolture bulk supply point east to Toorbul Point substation. The powerline is proposed (based on current forecast demand) for completion in summer 2010-2011 to service local growth for the region.
  • Cooran substation project
    ENERGEX is planning to build a new substation at Grahams Road to improve the reliability of electricity supply in the area, and cater for future growth. This project is currently awaiting the outcome of a Development Application with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council
  • Cornubia substation project
    ENERGEX is planning to develop a new 33/11kV zone substation in the Cornubia area, situated at 289-301 California Creek Road, Cornubia. The substation is proposed for completion in late 2009 to service local growth for the region.
  • Mudgeeraba to Tugun network upgrade
    The Mudgeeraba to Tugun network upgrade is a great example of how ENERGEX is committed to delivering a whole of government approach to infrastructure challenges.
  • Peregian substation project
    ENERGEX powers up $4 million Sunshine Coast electricity upgrade.
  • South Pine to Hays Inlet powerline duplication project
    ENERGEX will upgrade the substation at Hays Inlet, construct a new 110kV zone substation on Goodrich Road, Griffin and build a new connection into the Mango Hill Substation to increase capacity.
  • SunCoast power project
    This electrical infrastructure investment project will enhance the quality and security of supply to homes and businesses in the Sunshine Coast region.
  • Yandina proposed substation project
    ENERGEX is planning to develop a new substation at 64-68 Farrell Street. The substation is proposed for completion in late 2009 to service local growth for the region.
