Social Media Policy
The ENERGEX Twitter and Facebook accounts are managed by the Corporate Communications Team, on behalf of all ENERGEX departments.
We may occasionally use some automation tools (which generate tweets from RSS feeds) to ensure the information posted is timely.
If you follow us, you can expect between 1-10 tweets and at least one Facebook update on a working week day* covering some or all of the following:
- Alerts about new content on our other digital channels (careers, network projects, videos on YouTube, media releases)
- Invitations to provide feedback on specific issues
- Power interruptions
- Safety and storm information
- Energy saving tips
- Sponsorship opportunities and community initiatives
* This may vary in extreme circumstances.
Being followed
If you follow us on Twitter or Facebook we may decide to follow you back. Being followed by us does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Availability
We will update and monitor our Twitter and Facebook account during office hours, Monday to Friday. During times of power interruptions or during severe weather we may also update our accounts on weekends and evenings.
There may be circumstances outside of our control where these social media sites are unavailable. We apologise in advance if this causes any inconvenience.

Interaction
We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers and endeavour to join the conversation where possible. However, we may not be able to reply individually to all updates we receive via Twitter or Facebook.
The Corporate Communications team reads all @replies and Direct Messages on Twitter, and all private messages, comments and wall posts on Facebook.
We ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people at ENERGEX.
Relevancy
Please interact with us only on issues relevant to ENERGEX and do not repost other people's appeals, requests or offers.
In respect of our customers and followers; some of whom are under the age of 18, we will not respond to any off-topic, inflammatory, repetitive, offensive or inappropriate comments and will delete them as soon as it is possible to do so.
You can trust that posts, comments and tweets that have an ENERGEX logo next to them are reliable information. Comments by individuals may not be accurate.
We cannot engage on issues which break the rules of our general media policy.
