Information for customers using Life Support equipment

At Energex we understand some of our customers have special health requirements, including reliance on mains powered life support equipment.

The Energex prioritycare Program has been established to provide customers who rely on life support equipment with details on how to prepare a plan of action in case of a power supply interruption.  Life support customers are also supplied with a dedicated telephone number, to ensure minimum delays when contacting us to enquire about power supply interruptions.

How do I become a member?

If you or a member of your household relies on life support equipment, please follow this process:

  1. Contact your electricity retailer to register your details.
  2. Your electricity retailer will advise us to include you on our prioritycare Program.
  3. We will send you a letter and fact sheet outlining important information, including the prioritycare telephone number.

Your retailer keeps us informed of any changes to your circumstances.  It is important that you contact them for:

  • Changes to your contact details, including phone number and postal address
  • Electricity rebates
  • Matters involving your electricity account
  • Changes to the use of the life support system at your premises

To register as a customer relying on a life support system, please call your electricity retailer.  Refer to your electricity account for their contact details.

Alternatively you may download a Medical Practitioner Notification of Life Support Equipment Requirements form for your doctor to complete and return to Energex.
