Terms and Conditions

1. The promotion is being conducted by ENERGEX Limited ABN 40 078 849 055 of 150 Charlotte Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 (“Promoter”).

 

Eligibility

1. Entry is open to all residents in the South East Queensland ENERGEX distribution area (postcodes 4000-4347 inclusive and 4500-4581 inclusive) except for employees and immediate families of the Promoter or associated companies and agencies of the Promoter.
2. To be eligible to enter, you need to first register at www.energex.com.au/switched_on, and successfully answer all registration questions.  Registration opens on 1 January 2008.
3. To be eligible for a prize in any given month you must have submitted a correct answer for that month’s question and a correct answer for each prior month’s question.  Each month you will be given the opportunity to answer any prior month’s questions previously unanswered.
4. To be eligible to win the December Draw you must have correctly answered the twelve questions from January 2008 to December 2008 inclusive. 

How to play?

1. One question will be posted on the website (www.energex.com.au/switched_on) on the first calendar day of the twelve calendar months of 2008. 
2. To enter the participant must choose the correct ‘Power Words’ for the month from multiple choices.
3. The correct ‘Power Words’ can be found on the corresponding month’s page in the 2008 ENERGEX Calendar.

Prizes

1. There is one Birch Carroll and Coyle Movie Card to a retail value of $75.00 available to be won at each draw between the January Draw and the November Draw (inclusive).
2. There is one personal DVD player (a brand of the Promoter’s choice) to a retail value of $150.00 available to be won at the December Draw.
3. The total prize pool is valued at $975.00. 
4. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. 

Miscellaneous

1. Only one entry is permitted per person per month.
2. Entry is free.
3. Judging will be completed by an automated draw at the Promoter’s address.
4. The winners will be notified by telephone and mail within 10 business days of the Closing Date for the applicable draw.
5. The winners will be published on the Switched On website at http://www.energex.com.au/switched_on.
6. The prizes will be sent in the post to the addresses nominated by the entrant.  The prizes will be sent after the winner(s) have been contacted.  Please allow 28 calendar days for delivery.
7. The Promoter is not liable for late, lost or misdirected mail.
8. In the event that the Promoter is unable to contact a winner, the runner-up will be deemed the winner and notified by telephone and mail within 20 business days of the Closing Date.
9. The Promoter is not liable for any entry that is been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.
10. The Promoter’s decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters.  No correspondence will be entered into.  
11. All entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the promotional database and not at the time of transmission by the entrant.
12. The Promoter does not guarantee that the entry website (http://www.energex.com.au/switched_on) and the entry mechanism will be continuously available and operating fault-free during the promotion period.
13. Entries remain the property of the Promoter.
14. The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered, including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, or personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of prize-winning trips or in connection with any other prizes.
15. Any change in the value of the prize(s) occurring between the publishing date and the date that the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the promoter.
