How do I apply?

Applications will open in approximately July/August each year for commencement in November and will be advertised on our websites and through Queensland universities on Career Hub.

I am currently in year 1 or 2 of a degree. Can I apply for the Vacation Program?

Eligibility is open to students who are enrolled in 2nd year or greater of their degree.

What degree is required to be eligible for student placement?

To be considered for an intern placement you will need to be currently studying an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline at a Queensland university. You will need to complete the online application form on our Energy Queensland Careers page when applications are open.

I do not have permanent residency. Can I apply for an internship/student placement?

No, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

How long is the program?

Approximately 12 weeks between November and February.

Where are the positions located?

Our Vacation Program offers opportunities to work in the following locations throughout Queensland:

  • Brisbane
  • Cairns
  • Townsville
  • Rockhampton
  • Toowoomba

What is the recruitment process?

The following is a brief guide to the steps involved in our selection process for our Vacation Program:

  • Step 1 - Complete an online application, including a copy of your latest unofficial university transcript and resume
  • Step 2 - Undertake a short video interview
  • Step 3 - Telephone or face to face interview
  • Step 4 - Reference checks
  • Step 5 - Offer of student placement.
