Queensland Theatre Company
As the state's leading professional arts company, the Queensland Theatre Company strives to inspire and educate Australians through the staging of a range of stimulating productions, school performances, workshops and teacher training.
In our fifth year of association, we are continuing our support of cultural endeavours and community events. Focusing on the areas of Indigenous, Sustainability, Youth and Community, our agreement works to nurture the next generation of Brisbane Theatre talent.
To achieve this, we support The Greenhouse Program, the creative home at Queensland Theatre Company. Providing students, industry and the wider community with a rich learning experience in theatre performance, the GreenHouse is the place for aspiring artists to be seen on stage and playwrights to have their work developed and presented.
This year, we are supporting Brisbane, a critically acclaimed theatre production which draws on true stories from the leafy streets of Brisbane in the middle of wartime. This production is a coming-of-age tale with moments of sublime comedy amid a heartfelt tale of a family fragmented by tragedy.
We also continue to support the Queensland Youth Ensembles, which enables aspiring young actors to work with professional actors each week to hone their skills. Since beginning our contribution in 2014, more than 10,000 students have been involved in the activities and the Youth Ensemble has seen its newest group, Logan, join the ranks. This Ensemble caters to disadvantaged students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Through our partnership with the Queensland Theatre Company, we have been able to align our corporate values with the key ideals of the organisation, making their cultural programs worthy of our support.
