2018-19 Pricing proposal

Our 2018-19 Annual Pricing Proposal (below) was submitted to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) on 29 March 2018 and was approved by the regulator on 9 May 2018. The 2018-19 Annual Pricing Proposal sets out the tariff classes, tariffs and charging parameters in line with our approved 2017-20 Tariff Structure Statement.

Clause 6.18.2(a) of the National Electricity Rules requires us to submit an annual pricing proposal to the AER.

Change to jurisdictional scheme funding

On 1 June 2017, the Queensland Government directed us to remove the jurisdictional scheme amounts (Solar Bonus Scheme and other amounts) from our network charges until at least 2020. These costs are now funded by the Queensland Government via a fixed grant covering the three year period 1 July 2017 - 30 June 2020.  As a result, the jurisdictional scheme rates in our 2018-19 network charges have been set to nil.

Maximum price cap

A number of Alternative Control Services (ACS) are subject to the maximum price cap set by the Queensland Government through Schedule 8 of the Queensland Electricity Regulation 2006. These maximum prices take precedence over the prices approved by the AER.

This means the prices for certain services charged to customers will actually be lower than the prices contained in the 2018-19 Network Tariff Tables on the AER's website. We have now updated our charges to reflect the final Schedule 8 maximum price caps in the 2018-19 Updated Network Tariff Tables below.

Metering installations

As a result of Power of Choice taking effect in Queensland on 1 December 2017, we are no longer responsible for installing electricity meters as they are subject to contestability (competition). As a result, a number of ACS were reviewed on 1 December 2017 to remove the metering costs out of these services.
