Kids safety

Safety Heroes primary school education program

Safety Heroes is an educational program delivered by Energex and Ergon Energy that helps teach primary school students how electricity works and how to behave safely around electrical equipment.

In 2016, the program will be held in primary schools across Queensland during Electricity Safety Week - 5 to 9 September 2016.

Teaching kids safe habits around electricity and electrical equipment at an early age is a smart investment for the future.  Feedback shows that primary school aged children are enthusiastic learners of such practical advice and are often keen to share their lessons at home with mum and dad.

Teaching resources

To assist teachers who are supporting us in delivering these important safety messages, we have developed the Safety Heroes program.  The program provides interactive teaching resources that align with the curriculum requirements of Queensland schools and will help teachers meet outcomes in the Australian Curriculum for Health and Physical Education for F-6.

It's easy to get involved

Registrations to receive a free resource pack are now open to primary schools in Queensland and will close Friday 19 August 2016. Resource packs contain an activity booklet for P-6, USB with interactive whiteboard lessons for Year 6, student prizes, merit certificate, posters, stickers and more.
