CCTV, Smart Sensors & other devices
Local councils, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), and Queensland Police can apply to install the following devices on our overhead infrastructure such as wood poles, concrete poles, or street light columns:
- CCTV
- Condition monitoring devices
- Weather stations
- Traffic signals
- Parking sensors
- Warning lights (Aircraft)
- Safety beacons.
This process will involve both an application and an agreement, which you will need to enter with us. This will detail the legal and commercial responsibilities and other contractual obligations and associated costs for your installation on our network.
Once your design has been accepted and approved by our team and you have a signed agreement, your work can begin.

If you are a new customer and would like to enquire about installing your device and Internet of things (IOT) for either short or long term periods, please refer to the process below.
If you are a member of the public, requests for private installations are not accepted.
Installation process

1 Enquiry
You identify the poles needed for your installation and submit your initial enquiry via our online enquiry form.

2 Checks
We'll do some prequalification checks to confirm the pole's suitability for your devices.

3 Application
If your devices need power, you must apply for an unmetered supply connection via our Portal. We can help you with your application submission.

4 Review
Your application and design will be reviewed by our relevant teams.

5 Agreement
We'll establish the relevant agreement with you:
- Large quantity of devices or long-term/permanent installations - We'll send you a Facilities Access Agreement (FAA), which you must sign and email to facilitiesaccess@energyq.com.au. Application and annual fees will apply.
- Small quantity of devices or short-term installations - We'll send you a Deed Poll Agreement for each pole, which you must sign and email to facilitiesaccess@energyq.com.au. A FAA is not required, but application and annual fees still apply.

6 LicenceYour site licence will be offered and executed by us.

You must engage an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) for installation of your devices from one of our approved lists:

An application fee and annual fee for each pole site will apply.
