Network tariffs & pricing

When asked about electricity supply, many customers say their most important considerations are reliability, safety and of course pricing. Knowing what energy is costing your household or your business is crucial when it comes to balancing the budget and making decisions.

What are network tariffs & pricing?

The prices we charge our customers are regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). Every five years the AER sets the revenue allowances in advance and then each year approves the network tariffs and prices we charge to recover that revenue in the following year. Our Network Tariffs and Pricing cover both Standard Control Services (SCS) and Alternative Control Services (ACS).

Standard Control Services (SCS) are at the core of our services focusing on the distribution, or access to/supply of energy, services we provide to all customers. Services examples include items such as construction, maintenance and repair of the Network are included in the Network Tariffs we charge to Retailers.

Alternative Control Services (ACS) are more tailored, distribution non-network, options tailored to individual customers requesting the service or more like a “user-pays” system. Examples may include connection services, metering, public lighting and ancillary services.

If you have any specific questions regarding your prices, please contact your electricity retailer.

What are your network tariffs & prices?

We are required to provide a range of documents to regulatory agencies that set out our methodology every five years while others provide network tariffs and prices for each year. These documents may include:
