About your electricity account

Queensland's electricity and gas markets have been open to competition since 1 July 2007. Known as Full Retail Competition (FRC), customers can choose their own electricity and gas retailer.

Energex remains the electricity distributor to customers in South East Queensland and will continue to provide a safe and reliable supply of electricity to your home and business.

  • For any enquiries regarding your electricity account, contact your electricity retailer.
  • Visit the Queensland Competition Authority for a list of electricity retailers for South East Queensland customers.

Community speakers' presentations

Energex  is available to present to different community groups on a  range of topics such as:

  • Electrical safety in severe weather
  • Energex annual helicopter patrols
  • Working in the electricity industry (Careers)
  • The history of electricity
  • The electricity network
