PeakSmart air conditioner device removal for Life Support customers

We are contacting customers who are on our PeakSmart program, who have a Life Support customer residing at their premises, and who live in an area where we may run a PeakSmart event in future.

We are offering to remove the PeakSmart device(s) from your air conditioner(s) at no cost to you.

After you confirm you would like the PeakSmart device removed, we will pass your details onto Air Data Electrical. They will then contact you to arrange a suitable time to visit (during normal business hours).

You may have moved into a premises where the current or previous occupant had a PeakSmart signal receiver device installed in an air conditioner. Whilst PeakSmart is only activated a few times per year and usually only for a few hours each time, we would like to ensure that any customer registered for Life Support is not impacted by the operation of PeakSmart.

The work required to remove the PeakSmart capability is very simple. Your air conditioner is not removed or modified – the small PeakSmart device (which was originally supplied by us) is simply removed from inside your air conditioner outdoor compressor, by a qualified electrical contractor that we assign. This process will not require access inside your home, and it will not interrupt your power supply. The work is expected to take no more than 10 minutes.

The PeakSmart device will be removed by Air Data Electrical. They are an experienced air conditioning business that has worked closely with us on various aspects of the PeakSmart program for many years.

No. Removing the PeakSmart device requires access within the air conditioner and should only be undertaken by a licenced electrical contractor.

The PeakSmart program is a voluntary program which the current or previous owner or occupant of the premises opted to participate in, in return for a cashback from us.

Yes, we will remove the PeakSmart device from all air conditioners where they have been installed.

Yes. The PeakSmart program has been operating for more than 10 years in Queensland, with over 150,000 PeakSmart devices installed into air conditioners. Most customers who voluntarily opted into the program notice little or no impact to their comfort levels when the PeakSmart functionality is operated a few times per year.
