Our tradeswomen and apprentices have told us they love the teams they work with and the support they receive learning as apprentices. Many of our tradespeople chose this career as they love working outdoors and in a practical, hands-on role. They also love the flexibility and work-life balance, as well as job security, career options around the state, and competitive pay.

While we know gender doesn’t factor into how successful you can be at a job, we don't see as many applications from women as we'd like. Historically, fewer women have worked as tradespeople in the energy industry, but times have changed, and we want to be clear that our apprentice program is a great career path for women.
We want our workforce to reflect Queensland communities, and we know we can achieve better results when we have a mix of people with different backgrounds and experiences in our teams.
