2026 Ergon-Energex Community Fund open
Not-for-profit groups can now apply for grants of up to $10,000 from the 2026 Ergon-Energex Community Fund.
We are looking for initiatives that will make a lasting difference, including projects to boost the resilience and recovery of communities impacted by cyclones, floods and bushfires.
Area Manager Peter Lougheed is encouraging grassroots groups across Queensland to get their applications in early.
“Whether you have a big idea or a simple solution - we’re keen to hear about it.
“The Glastonbury Hall and Recreation Association invested their $4270 grant in an electrical upgrade at the 104-year-old community-owned facility.
“It’s a great example of an initiative that will benefit the community for years to come.
“Community hubs not only play an important role in the social fabric of areas like this, they also serve as a central meeting point in times of need and disaster,” Mr Lougheed said.
The Ergon-Energex Community Fund is open to projects that improve energy efficiency, electrical safety, environmental protection, and community health and wellbeing.
“This year we supported a diverse range of community initiatives, from Thursday Island to Toowong.
“It’s wonderful to be able to reward so many hard-working volunteers for their efforts and ideas, and we can’t wait to see the next round of applications.
“Community Fund recipients will again be in the running for the People’s Choice Award – an additional $5000 towards their project,” Mr Lougheed said.
Apply online before applications close at 5pm on Friday 28 November.
